Pre Waxing and After Care

We use a high quality wax product and have both hard and soft wax available. Before waxing you will need to avoid AHA creams like lactic acid, glycolic acid. It’s prone to making the skin sensitive. If you use accutane you will need to be off the product for one year prior to waxing. Waxing is not recommended for clients on Retina, Renova, or Differin as it causes skin thinning. Sunburned or irritated skin may not be waxed. After a chemical peel or microdermabrasion you will need to wait at least seven days before having a wax. If you have been in a tanning bed you may not wax that same day. You may wax two days after tanning. No excessive heat or hot water for the first twenty-four hours after the wax. Women may experience sensitivity up to a week prior to the beginning of their menstrual cycle. To complete a wax you will need to let your body hair grow out to ¼ of an inch. Exfoliate well twenty-four hours before your appointment, it helps with ingrown hairs. Forty-eight hours after your treatment, you will want to exfoliate daily.
